On this day, 6th June, 1944............
.... my father went on a trip to Sword Beach in Normandy with some of his friends in the Royal Marine Commandos. He was 20 years old at the time. A proud and poignant time for all in his family as the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings is remembered.
